Sentencing/Disposition

Even if faced with a juvenile crime or juvenile criminal court charge, there are many different options in juvenile court which can alleviate the penalties normally handed down from a conviction in adult court.  It is therefore important that you hire a criminal defense attorney familiar with the proceedings and options available in juvenile court in order to minimize those penalties.  Juvenile criminal court or juvenile criminal charges have many different options than adult court.  Some varying degrees of disposition (sentencing) in juvenile court, include:

  • home supervision
  • informal probation
  • deferred entry of judgment
  • supervised probation
  • camp placement
  • California Youth Authority

Furthermore, there are many other dispositional options, including community service, counseling, community classes, fines, etc.  Knowing the availability of these alternatives is critical in juvenile court proceedings.  The probation department is also intimately involved in juvenile cases, so it is important to hire a criminal defense attorney who knows how to handle that channel of communication, to provide all important and relevant information about your son and daughter, aside from simply fighting the case.

When it comes to hiring a criminal defense attorney to handle your son or daughter’s future, you should hire someone with the knowledge and experience to handle the case properly.  We will fight for your rights all the way through.

You have rights.  You should exercise those rights.  And the only way to do so is to hire a criminal defense attorney who handles these cases properly.

Do not talk to police.  Do not provide statements, even if you think they are statements which declare your innocence – they will only be twisted and used against you.  First, consult with a lawyer.

Do not consent to a search of your person/residence/vehicle.  Demand a search warrant.

Ask for your lawyer.  These are your constitutional rights – exercise them!
